LL Bean is such a monolith of American east coast outdoor culture. Founded in 1912 as an affordable outdoor outfitter, it eventually gained prominence within wealthy circles, its name becoming a status symbol a way usually only reserved for luxury items. For example, "Honey, don't forget to pack our Bean boots." or "I never go to my family's Long Island cottage without my Bean bag for beach trips." It's a bit waspy but in an adventurous and cool way.
