The Travel Shell Parka was the very first piece ever made for Battenwear—and it perfectly represents everything we set out to accomplish when launching the brand. This parka combines technical construction for protection and mobility with clever, functional pocket design to carry everything you need on the go. The Japanese-milled 60/40 fabric gives it a timeless outdoor heritage feel, with natural wind and water resistance and a soft, comfortable hand.

Fabric Notes

This Japanese-milled 60/40 cloth (60% polyester / 40% cotton) is substantial yet lightweight for its warmth. The material’s wind- and water-resistance come from its thread composition—not chemical coatings—resulting in durability, breathability, and comfort season after season.

• Fit: V3 version with updated shape (expanded armholes, roomier body and sleeves for modern layering)
• Hood: 3-panel design for a contoured fit, slight front brim to block rain, adjustable drawstring with leather stopper that ages beautifully
• Chin flap: Protects sensitive skin from zipper teeth
• Back map pocket: Vintage-inspired; great for stashing newspapers or light gear
• Chest pocket: Angled zip for quick access to valuables without unzipping the jacket
• Three front snap-flap pockets with 3D volume for maximum storage; vertical hand pockets at the waist
