Northfield Parka V.2 / Olive

The Northfield Parka was originally designed for a Los Angeles native who moved to Northfield, Minnesota, and needed to get through their first subzero winter. Beyond just being toasty warm, this parka has thoughtful pockets to keep hands cozy and belongings safe, a brim on the hood plus a drawstring hood closure, a mixture of snap and Velcro pockets (for minimum glove-handed fumbling), and a drawstring at the interior waist for an adjustable fit. This is what we think of as our serious, you’re-not-in-California-anymore parka.

Fabric note: This is a Japanese milled 60/40 which means its substantial in quality but comfortably light for the warmth it provides. We like 60/40 because it is designed to rely on thread composition (rather than chemical coating, etc) for its wind- and water- resistance.
