TEMPORARY SHIPPING DELAYS and STOCK HIATUS

Hi everyone,
First off, thank you so much for your support—without you, Battenwear wouldn’t be possible. We wanted to chat with you directly to give you an update and also an apology.
Some of you have been waiting longer than expected for your orders, and we know how frustrating that can be. We are really frustrated too.
And we’re really sorry about the delay.
Here’s what’s going on: we recently set up our new headquarters here in Japan, and most of our inventory is based in Japan.
Our plan for the season was simple—we thought! Our customers place orders, we ship a weekly batch of goods to our U.S. warehouse, and then, from our US warehouse, your package goes out quickly to you.
That way, we wouldn’t have to guess what you want, particularly since the cost of import is now so much higher than it was when we planned the season.
We use express shipping, so in the past, shipments from Japan to the U.S. usually took about 2 to 5 days MAX, so we felt confident this would work smoothly within our advertised delivery time.
Unfortunately, one of our recent shipments took more than two weeks just to clear U.S. customs
It’s still making its way to our Chicago where our warehouse is being managed by our longtime partners at Independence Chicago.
From what we’ve learned talking with other brands and stores, this isn’t just us—customs delays have become a widespread issue.
But misery doesn’t deserve company and we know that it’s small comfort when you’re waiting way too long for your package
So here’s our plan: in mid-October, once our new Japanese sweats are ready, we’ll send a big batch of goods all at once to America, rather than waiting on your orders.
Until then, the only items available on battenwear.com will be items already in Chicago. But again, we will be restocking soon!
And for those of you outside the U.S.—or if you just prefer not to wait—please note that we’re about to launch our Japanese online store!
On Battenwear.jp you’ll be able to order directly from Japan, no matter where you are in the world—Asia, Europe, North America, Australia, etc—and have your package sent from Japan right to your door.
