The Battenwear Cooperative started out as a kind of friends & family / industry contacts kind of thing. Friends in Tokyo, New York, and LA would stop by our showrooms during men's market to see what we'd been cooking up the last 6 months. They'd linger until all the wholesale buyers and press had finished for the day, and then stay for some drinks and a personal tour of the collection.

To support us, they'd place orders for the items that caught their eye, building up their small personal collections of Battenwear. It's a great honor to get to make clothes for your friends. It's something we're really proud of. And . . . not to brag but we have some awesome and uniquely stylish friends, so it's such a pleasure to see what they choose. Sometimes it surprises us! And sometimes, we just know which items a certain friend will pick.  

 

 

As the years passed and more people asked about preordering, we realized (duh) we should be offering our repeat customers the ability to preorder too.

The idea is: we can't always carry retail inventory on every size/color from a collection, but if you tell us that that's the size/color you want, then we can make it for you. 

We recommend the Cooperative to customers who already know Battenwear and how it fits, wears, etc.
